The Colour Of Pomegranates / Sayat Nova
Dir. Sergei Parajanov | 1969 | 79 mins | Colour | Soviet Union | Armenian/Azerbaijani/Georgian (subtitled) | PG
A super-stylized, surreal biography of Armenian troubadour Sayat Nova, whose life is depicted through non-narrative amalgamations of poetic images. We're screening the original Armenian version of the film, restored to its full glory after being cut by the Soviet authorities.
