The Epic Of Everest
Dir. J B L Noel | 1924 | 87 mins | B&W Tinted | UK | Silent with English intertitles | U

In what we hope will be the first of many collaborations with Llanover Hall Community Arts, we're really excited to be able to commemorate the centenary of George Mallory's ill-fated attempt to climb the tallest mountain in the world with a screening of the 1924 documentary, The Epic Of Everest. Almost exactly 100 years on from the events documented in the film we'll be giving you the rare chance to see it on the big screen, and with some special guests to make the night even more memorable.

At the age of 25, Tori James was the first Welsh woman to climb everest, and now she'll be taking on the task of conquering Llanover Hall to introduce the film, sharing some of her experiences with us. We're thrilled to welcome her to this inarugural cinema event in the building.

The silent film will be accompanied by a live soundtrack performed by Natalie Ollis - you'll recognise her if you came to our screening of Nosferatu at Penarth Pier Pavilion a couple of Halloweens ago. We can't wait to hear what she's got lined up for this one!

Tickets £6 / £5 (conc) - payments on the night by card only.
