Disturbed Blanche DuBois (Vivienne Leigh) is tormented by her brutish brother-in-law (Marlon Brando) while her reality crumbles around her in Elia Kazan's stunning adaptation of Tennessee Williams' play. They don't make 'em like this any more.
March is Oscars month at Snowcat Cinema. At the Academy Awards of 1952, A Streetcar Named Desire was nominated in twelve categories, winning in four: leading actress (Vivienne Leigh), supporting actress (Kim Hunter), supporting actor (Karl Malden), and art direction (B&W).
