The Last Picture Show

Please note: we still require over-18s to show a COVID pass on arrival, and face-coverings must be worn in the cinema (unless exempt). For more information on our COVID safety requirements, please visit our website - https://www.snowcatcinema.co.uk/covid-passes

Playing as a tribute to Peter Bogdanovich who passed away in January, his Oscar-winning breakthrough drama is a gem. Very early performances from Jeff Bridges and Cybill Sheppard, a wonderful screenplay from Bogdanovich and the original novelist, Larry McMurtry, and beautiful monochrome cinematography make this one you should be sure not to miss.

March is Oscars month at Snowcat Cinema. At the 1972 Academy Awards, The Last Picture show was nominated in six categories, winning two awards: supporting actor (Ben Johnson) and supporting actress (Cloris Leachman).

Why you should see it: because it's an earl-70s classic and is rarely seen on the big screen
